We use industry leading Building Information Modelling (BIM), 3D structural Analysis and design software with a combined 40 years plus of knowledge to provide cost effective solutions to all aspects of a construction project; from the building design through to drainage requirements, covering a full range of civil engineering fundamentals.

50 years of history.

Formed in the mid-1970’s as a small partnership owned by Geoff Shaw, Jeff Whitmore and Bill Fyffe, we will soon be celebrating our 50th anniversary. We have continued to work in the North West of England and North Wales predominately, and although our growth has seen us take on UK wide projects, we retain a family feel to our business.

In 2006 Shaw Whitmore Fyffe Partnership became a limited company under our SWF Consulting name. Our sister company based on the Wirral re-branded as SWF Consultants and remains an independent company with their own array of clients and projects.

Dan Rogers and Phil Sarbutts assumed control in 2017, having been invited to the board in 2013. Together they now run the company from our Wilmslow headquarters, where we recently reached another milestone; the 9000th job on our books.

Phil Sarbutts

Phil joined us in 2000 having graduated in Civil Engineering. He became a chartered structural engineer in 2008, passing the Institute of Structural Engineers examination. He has risen through the ranks and went on to become a director and shareholder in 2013.

Phil provides expert design input for our drainage and infrastructure works, although his vast experience means he is equally adept at producing designs for steel or concrete framed buildings.

Dan Rogers

Dan came on board in 2004 as a junior engineer, having previously gained experience within the rail industry after graduating with a BSc in the built environment. He joined Phil as a director and shareholder in 2013 and is currently working towards becoming an associate member of the Institute of Structural Engineers.

Dan leads our structural engineering design, pioneering the use of BIM and 3D structural Analysis software. He also oversaw the overhaul of our office management that enabled us to achieve ISO 9001 accreditation.
