Whistleblowing Policy

Scope

SWF Consulting are committed to the highest standards of honesty, openness and accountability, and we encourage anyone who believed that there has been an incident of malpractice within the organisation or by other parties from outside the organisation to raise their concerns.

We operate the following whistle blowing policy and will ensure this is made known to all members of staff.

Whistleblowing

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (or Whistleblowers Act) protects those who disclose specific instances of malpractice fitting into the below categories:

  • A Criminal Offence
  • Failure to comply with legal obligation.
  • A miscarriage of justice.
  • The endangering of an individual’s health and safety
  • Damage to the Environment
  • Deliberate concealment of information relating to the above.

The whistleblower is protected if they have a reasonable suspicion that a malpractice has occurred, is occurring or is likely to occur.

Investigation process

SWF Consulting will complete a thorough investigation into any reported whistleblowing claim.

Disclosures made to your legal adviser while obtaining legal advice are protected.

You should be aware that the policy will apply where a disclosure is made in good faith and where you reasonably believe that the information disclosed and any allegations contained in it are substantially true.

If you reasonably believe that the relevant failure (i.e., one of the circumstances listed above) relates wholly or mainly to the conduct of a person other than SWF Consulting or any other matter for which a person other than SWF Consulting has legal responsibility, then you should either make the disclosure to that other person.

While SWF Consulting hope that such disclosers will never be necessary, it also recognises that it may find itself in circumstances which are new to it. Each case will therefore be treated on its own merits.

Disclosure Procedure

Our Whistleblowing Form below should be used in cases where anyone wishes to make a disclosure as part of the Whistleblowing Policy.

If the whistleblower wishes to remain anonymous, they can submit this form by omitting their name.
