Project Value
We worked with Preston based architects David Cox to deisgn this 5 storey building with a 3 storey entrance block. The buildings delivered 121 serviced apartments with ancillary facilities including, bicycle storage and hard and soft landscaping.
The superstructure saw the provision of a steel framed building which was supported on piled foundations with the floors being composite slabs.
A sewer diversion was required to enable the construction of the building, taking the foul sewer around the building footprint. An existing combined sewer runs beneath the building which required a build over agreement to be entered into with United Utilities forming a bridge within the steel frame.
As part of the wider project, refurbishment works have been undertaken to the former Unicorn public house which is located on the site frontage. Works included stabilising the external walls to preserve the stability of the structure giving the building a new life a residential apartments.
